A Symposium About Women in University Settings

Women Leaders: A Symposium for Women in University Settings has been held every other year since 1998. It was developed to give women, particularly from the University of California, an opportunity to come together to discuss and officially examine where women are today in gaining access to positions of leadership in higher education.

While women have clearly made great strides in reaching higher management levels in University settings, much work still needs to be done. The conference explores this and other related issues in dealing with women in leadership.

The UCSF Center for Gender Equity is pleased to announce that Women Leaders 2011: A Symposium About Women in University Settings will be held on March 2 and 3, 2011 at the Parc 55 Hotel in San Francisco.

Although we acknowledge the continuing economic pressures facing UC, we believe that creating community and focusing on professional development is more important now than ever. The 2011 Symposium will provide participants with an entertaining and engaging opportunity to examine women's current access to positions of leadership in higher education and to develop strategies to increase women's power and influence.
