The Center for Gender Equity is committed to providing the resources and support required to address sexual and relationship violence affecting our campus community members, including students, faculty, staff and postdoctoral scholars. Educational materials, referrals, training sessions and consultation (on-line, telephone and in-person for individuals and groups) are all available upon request.

In recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, the Center for Gender Equity, UCSF Campus Police, & Community Government Relations department, welcome our community partners to attend a community forum with:

Restoring Our Communities with Sunny Schwartz

Parking will be available in Milberry Union Garage, though space is limited (see driving and public transportation directions).

Join us in gathering UCSF’s community partners to share ideas, resources and information.  Sunny will share the work she is doing in the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department, her remarkably successful Resolve to Stop Violence Program (RSVP), and give a reading from her best-selling book Dreams from the Monster Factory: A Tale of Prison, Redemption, and One Woman's Fight to Restore Justice to All.

Sunny Schwartz is a nationally recognized expert in Criminal Justice reform. She has pioneered new policy initiatives for custody-based and reentry programs, as well as alternatives to incarceration. Ms. Schwartz has worked in criminal justice for over 25 years. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 1985. In 1990 Sheriff Michael Hennessey appointed Ms. Schwartz as the Program Administrator for the San Francisco Sheriff's Department. Ms. Schwartz has directed the design and operation of prisoner programs in the San Francisco county jails.  We are honored and delighted to have her join us and share her successes, and look forward to hearing yours.
